Operations Diagnostic Assessment

Find what’s really holding your operation back, before you spend another dollar fixing the wrong thing.

Most operations leaders know performance should be better. What’s harder to see is which part of the operation is quietly limiting everything else. The diagnostic answers that question with evidence from your own floor, then gives you a clear order of attack.

Is this you?

This is for you if…

  • A major change (a new system, layout, structure or leadership team) hasn’t delivered the results you expected.
  • You’re about to make a big investment, such as new equipment, a new line or an acquisition, and want to know the operation can absorb it.
  • You’re bringing two businesses or sites together and need to see where they really differ.
  • You’re busy, the team is working hard, and results still aren’t moving.
How it works

What we do.

01

Agree what “good” looks like

We start with your goals, so the assessment measures the operation against what your business actually needs, not against a textbook.

02

Go and see

Time on the floor watching the work, conversations at every level from operators to the leadership team, and a look at the data you already have.

03

Read the four dimensions

Using the Adaptive Maturity Model, we place Leadership, People, Systems, and Technology & Insight on a five-level scale, and compare each to the level your goals require.

04

Prioritize and plan

You get the constraint, the evidence behind it, and a short list of what to fix first, walked through in person with your leadership team.

What you get

Deliverables.

  • A maturity profile across the four dimensions, showing where you are and where you need to be
  • The constraint named plainly, with the evidence from your own operation
  • Three to five priorities in order, with owners and a 90-day plan
  • Options for next steps, including doing it yourselves
PROOF
88% → 93%

At a $50M regulated manufacturer, a clear diagnosis meant refocusing the existing quality system instead of replacing it. First-pass yield rose from 88% to 93% in its strongest financial year on record.

Questions

Common questions.

“There are people who fix problems and then there are people who build the conditions so the problems don’t come back. This person is firmly in the second category.”

How is this different from a free assessment?

The free online maturity assessment is a quick self-check. The diagnostic is done on your floor, with your people and your data, and ends in a specific plan.

Do we have to hire you afterwards?

No. The plan is written so your team can act on it. Some clients ask for help with the first priorities; many don’t.

How long does it take?

It depends on the size of the operation and how many sites are involved. We agree a fixed scope and timeline before we start.
